uboa isn't very scary if you've been warned about it before, i guess. How else are you supposed to find out about it though? It's a pretty obscure thing to find out on your own.

good point. i wonder how it was found out at all?
i guess the only way to have it be a surpriiiiise is by having someone just tell you to keep going in, turning off the lights, and leaving. NO MATTER HOW BORING IT GETS

Sometimes people get it on their first try just by probability. There's a bunch of random events in the game, not just Uboa. The intention was for each player to have a unique experience I guess. But now since this game is popular and everybody knows where everything is random events like these don't mean anything.

I guess that's why my playthrough wasn't particularly impressive, as I had a little guide to tell me where all the interesting bits were... regrettable.
